Since 2009, I have facilitated a Divorce Support Group and have worked with hundreds of people in the process of divorce. I am a Certified Divorce Coach and hold ongoing Dating After Divorce Seminars.
I joined Anne’s group a few months after an unwanted divorce. Everyone was wonderful– caring, kind, and most of all understanding since many were in the same boat. (group also caters to loss of spouse/partner due to death). I met many nice men and women in the group, and the monthly ‘fun’ outings were a great addition to the more serious monthly support meetings. I admit to being a little nervous the first time I went to an activity, but I quickly overcame that– after a few minutes! I strongly recommend that you go to either an individual session, a fun outing, or a monthly support meeting at least once to check it out. Despite the difficulties life has thrown us, it is important to take a break from the disappointment or sorrow, and realize that you’re not alone, and that total strangers (strangers not for long, though, they become friends!) can help you through it. This is not just some textbook wisdom, believe me from experience, it works!
