Are you filled with angst because you don’t know if your marriage is salvageble, or have you made the decision to divorce and don’t know where to go from here? Perhaps your spouse is the one who wants the divorce and your head is spinning. You’re likely wondering how to tell the kids and feel concerned about their wellbeing. Maybe your marriage has been impacted by infidelity or substance abuse. You likely have some decisions to make and don’t know where to turn. Before you call an attorney, call me.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and CDC Certified Divorce Coach®. With my unique training and experience, I can help you determine if your marriage is salvageable and identify next steps. Should you choose divorce as your path, I can help you make grounded, informed decisions.
Most of the trauma for children is in how the divorce is handled, not the divorce itself. Ideally, it is best to repair the relationship and model a healthy marriage for your kids. When that’s not possible, for your kid’s sake, reach out for help today!
I work with individuals in all stages of the divorce process whether they are thinking about it, going through it, to recovering from it. I believe divorce provides an opportunity for tremendous personal growth. It shines a light on how you show up in ALL your relationships. I believe the only reason we have romantic feelings is so our partner can hold a mirror up to show us our issues. You have a choice to look in the mirror and evolve from what you see with accountability or you can smash the mirror and blame your partner for everything that is wrong in your life. If you have the courage to look in the mirror, you might just flourish after your divorce. The choice is yours.

Sherry Smith, LMFT, CDC® is a licensed marriage and family therapist, coach, author, speaker and podcaster in private practice. After a long and successful career in the financial services industry, Sherry felt compelled to switch careers and decided to become a therapist. Sherry soon discovered her true calling was to help women in all stages of the divorce process. Using her expertise in family therapy, her training as a divorce coach and her own life experience, Sherry has made the commitment to promote a non-adversarial divorce environment that is sensitive to the family system. She believes the children of divorce can become traumatized based on how the divorce is handled versus the divorce itself.
Sherry is an expert on helping women make grounded decisions while maintaining emotional regulation. She is well-versed at helping women facilitate healthy co-parenting relationships with their former spouses. She is also skilled at inspiring hope and purpose for these women as they begin to step into an unknown future. As the Director of her local chapter of the National Association of Divorce Professionals, Sherry can help you form a team of support to guide you through the process of divorce. Sherry also runs an 8-week master class/support group for separated and divorced women offered virtually via Zoom. Participants who complete the course have the opportunity to join the exclusive Divorce Resiliency Community including other women who have also completed the course.
In her spare time she can be found spending time in nature, hiking a mountain, trying out a new restaurant, listening to live music or spending time with friends and family.
